Founding, and recording.

Formation

As many bands, (or how bands), were founded, this band, Leonora, struggled through forming and searching band members. I know many bands would agree with me on that. The idea of forming this band was from its guitarist John Andrew "Bogz" Abogado, in 2006. Aside from Cris "4pedz" Medina (drums), he barely knew any friends, or colleagues, that would fit to his type of band he has in mind. He didn't know who could make a post on the bass and second guitar. Then, he found Ajan and Joey Tajan, seemed would fit for the vacant slots. When the musicians in the band were complete, Bogz invited Anna to be the vocalist of the band. Later, he added Sigrid to join Anna as front women for the band.
So, here are the original members:
John Andrew "Bogz" --- guitars
Cris "4pedz" --- drums
Ajan --- bass
Joey --- guitars
Anna --- vocals
Sigrid --- vocals

And these people, ladies and gentlemen, were the original members of the band.

The formation seemed easy, but finding a gig was not. The members of the band were only students in the first two years of the band looking for gigs. Making it hard for them to make it to any gig, since they have to prioritize spending their money for school that barely give them any leftover money for a gig. This one Bogz shouldered for the sake of the band not making any bad impression to the organizers. Bogz was the one dealing almost with everything in their first two years. The band even had to beg for a gig, making sure to be on time, also not to make a bad impression. The band even experienced being placed at a bad slot to play their music. They even had to play music in a small group of people just to introduce the band. Sure it was tough, upto this day for the band.

Another problem that time was making name for the band. Sure it isn't easy to get known easily, especially in the underground scene. But up to this moment, the band is still undergoing "making a name" process. But this is not yet the goal of the band. In five years time, the band had some change in its members. 4pedz was replaced by Adrian to fill the drums, and Sigrid by Sarah, (wife of Bogz), to fill in the vocalist position. And the rest is still the same. However, 4pedz stays as the drums programmer for the band for their recording, and the band uses his house to record their songs.

Then again, here are the new members of the band:
John Andrew "Bogz" --- guitars
Adrian --- live drums
Ajan --- bass
Joy --- guitars
Anna --- vocals
Sarah --- vocals
Cris "4pedz" --- studio drums programmer/recording engineer

Recording

Recording songs was first thought by Bogz would help the band to be known in the underground scene, back in 2007. But their songs were few at that time, as a demo album would require at least four songs to attract interest from underground listeners. Why would I bother buying an album that only consists of two, or three songs? Also, the band lacks funds at that time. So, the band went on playing at small gigs, just making friends with other known, and not-yet known bands. This, in able for them get new ideas and to help them to be known by other organizers, and hopefully invite them to play music. This still didn't help the band to record their songs. Home recording would have been helpful, but none of them has any idea about how to setup even an amateur home studio. Not until 2010.

4pedz acquired his knowledge in editing, and mixing music in 2009. At first, it was just a hobby. Then, he began making video and music projects for friends, church, and other people for free. At that time, he could record at home, except the drums. Then, he tried searching for software that would be easy to use for recording and would sound as if a real acoustic drums. He first tried EzDrummer. The sounds were great. The samples are like of that real drums. But, it is not easy to use, and make patterns. He kept the software for consideration up until 2011. In 2011, Anna's husband mentioned to 4pedz about Acoustica Beatcraft. It was easy for 4pedz to make patterns, only the samples don't sound as that of a real drums. But the software is easy to use. He was able to download some samples online, then, some default samples of the software are easy to adjust with the software's equalizers, and some reverb. These give satisfaction to 4pedz recording the drums for Leonora.

To this day, Leonora has recorded guitars and drums for its song I Can't Breathe. The band is still recording some parts of the song, and making draft recordings for other songs.

So, this is the introduction for the band Leonora. Though, I'm not their regular drummer anymore, I still treat this band as my band, as well.

This is the sample of the song I Can't Breathe:
